LAKESHORE DOODLE OWNERS PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION AS IT IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT......

Recently our vet brought some recent studies and concerns about Grain Free Dog Foods to our attention. We are currently reading and studying about this issue. We have fed and recommended Taste of the Wild Dog Food for quite some time now. It is possible that some of the high quality premium, GRAIN FREE, foods may be causing Taurine Deficient Dilated Cardiomyopathy in dogs including breeds that are not genetically predisposed to this. Taste of the Wild is one of the foods on the list of possible concerns.

There are many studies going on and many people collecting data. OUR VET IS RECOMMENDING THAT WE SWITCH FOODS. THE RECOMMENDATION WAS TO SWITCH TO ONE OF THE FOODS THAT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS THAT THEY KNOW HAVE NOT CAUSED THIS ISSUE UNTIL WHILE ADDITIONAL RESEARCH IS BEING DONE.

Lakeshore Doodles is not currently recommending a specific food to change too - as this is a very new development and we have a lot of studying to do. Food like Purina Pro Plan or Iams are being suggested as they are foods that have been around for a very long time - and are not connected to this specific issue. Does that mean that these foods are the best for overall health and longevity - I am not sure. When we have more information and have made an educated decision on which food we will be recommending in the future we will post this additional information.

WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ANSWER ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS ISSUE - AS IT IS TOO NEW FOR US TO HAVE LEARNED ALL THERE IS TO KNOW. PLEASE STUDY, READ, AND TALK TO YOU VET FOR RECOMMENDATIONS.
