Available Guardian Dogs
Free of Charge
We are looking for loving responsible families, WHO LIVE WITHIN 90 MINUTES OF THE 14411 ZIP CODE to adopt puppies FREE OF CHARGE that we have chosen to add to our breeding program.
Guardian dogs are puppies that we have chosen to be a part of our breeding program. They live as loved family members in the guardian home while we retain breeding rights for a few litters.
After the requirements for the program have been fulfilled - the dog is spayed at our cost and the guardian dog is yours forever.
Guardian homes are fantastic for the families who participate because they get a top quality dog, at no cost, because we appreciate the help they give us in spoiling and caring for our dogs!
Guardian homes are fantastic for the puppies that we have chosen to add to our breeding program because it enables them to live in a loving home environment instead of in a kennel situation. It also makes it possible for the puppies to grow up and retire with the same family who has raised them from a puppy!
All of the puppies that our guardian dogs give birth to are born in our home not yours. We simply borrow the mom from you during this time and when she is done caring for the new babies she is returned back to your family.
This is not a harsh or upsetting event for the mother dogs in this program. Visiting us at Lakeshore, is equivalent to your child going to a beloved Grandma's house for a visit. In most instances, the mom's love staying with us.... they are part of our family and the majority of them were born and raised in our home - so they are comfortable here with us... When it is time for them to return to your home - they typically do not "Miss" their babies. They are ready to be separated from them because they have very sharp little teeth and they know it is time.
If you live within 1 and 1/2 hours from the 14411 zip code and could give a loving and caring home to an awesome puppy - give us a call for more information!
We reserve the right to find the most loving homes for our puppies, which means we will not offer our puppies to everyone who applies....
We do not have difficult guidelines in order to qualify - other than a loving home environment where they will be a part of the family, appropriate daily care, good nutrition, regular vet care, and you must be within the hour and a half distance from 14411.
Guardian Family Guidelines
Loving, responsible home environment
All appropriate veterinary care; vaccines, flea meds, heartworm meds etc.
The puppy must be crate trained
The puppy should be taken to at least one set of puppy obedience classes
The guardian family should have a fenced in yard
No other guardian dogs/puppies from other breeders in the same home (for disease prevention reasons)
Additional family pets/dogs are fine
The guardian family should be able to financially care for the dog
The guardian family will need to agree to use the food and daily NuVet Plus supplement that we recommend for at least the first year of life
All members of the potential guardian family should be agreeable to taking part in this program
All members of the potential guardian family should be in good physical health. Families dealing with serious medical issues may not be the best choice for the additional responsibility of a new puppy.
The potential guardian family should give serious consideration to the positive and negative points to this program.
We prefer you to own your own home - although this may not be mandatory depending upon your situation. We simply want to know there is a certainty you will remain in the area for the remainder of the program.
The potential guardian family should be willing to remain in contact with us with photo updates, personality traits, and veterinary care.
The potential guardian family should understand that we will put the needs of our dog before the needs of the guardian family. We will not breed consecutive litters so the family can be done sooner. The health of our dogs are more important than your preferences.

Guardian Dog Program Explained
WHY GUARDIAN HOMES?
No words needed!
OUR POLICY OF "RIGHT OF REFUSAL"
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SALE OR GUARDIANSHIP TO ANY PERSON WHOM WE FEEL IS NOT THE BEST CHOICE FOR ONE OF OUR PUPPIES - THIS MAY BE DUE TO US HAVING CONCERNS ABOUT THE GENERAL TRAINING, WELFARE, AND CARE OF THE PUPPY OR WITH THE CUSTOMERS INABILITY TO WORK AGREEABLY WITH US PERSONALLY. WE DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE AN IN DEPTH EXPLANATION FOR OUR DECISION - AS OUR PUPPIES ARE OUR BABIES AND WE MUST FEEL CONFIDENT THAT THE PUPPY WILL BE WELL CARED FOR AND THAT THOSE PURCHASING OUR PUPPIES WILL AGREEABLY GO ALONG WITH OUR POLICIES BEFORE AND AFTER BRINGING A NEW PUPPY HOME. OUR POLICIES ARE NOT CONCERNING OR HARD TO ACCEPT.... BEFORE OR AFTER THE SALE - BUT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE DIFFICULT AND HARD TO PLEASE NO MATTER HOW EXCELLENTLY WE DO OUR JOB. OWNING A PUPPY IS A COMMITMENT THAT TAKES PATIENCE, FLEXIBILITY, AND UNDERSTANDING. IF THESE ARE NOT QUALITY TRAITS THAT YOU POSSESS IN WORKING WITH PEOPLE - WE WILL ASSUME YOU WILL NOT HAVE THEM WHEN DEALING WITH OUR PUPPIES EITHER.
WE ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO KEEP ANY PUPPY FROM ANY LITTER - WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE PUT OURSELVES ON THE RESERVATION LIST.
